Description:
In 2001, Gordon Matta-Clark, an American artist, proposed the concept of "Anarchitecture", which provides a method for developing urban micro-renewal from bottom to top by transforming abandoned buildings into artistic works.
At that time, the problem was to remove an old device in the renewal of the existing architectural space, which was composed of about 5 tons of steel components. The labor, vehicle and garbage disposal fees required in the process of dismantling and outward transportation would generate a lot of costs. More importantly, the recycling of waste materials was destructive to the natural environment.
With the faster and faster pace of urban and architectural renewal in China, the impact of construction waste is becoming more and more obvious. Here, EC wants to create a design solution based on the responsibility for the environment in which we live, expressing our respect for the environment in a beautiful form through creative design.
Finally, these old materials were recast and combined to be used separately in the appropriate locations for the project. In particular, the circular and curved steel tubes were designed as a round, multi-storey stand like a hand-drawn sketch. We named it "Ripples".
Thus, we have accomplished a transmission of ideas, a rearrangement of old materials in the form of beauty, and a regeneration in terms of its bioethics.
